FIXTURE DESIGN
The art of Abrasive Flow Fixture Design is to create a flow path through the fixture so that the abrasive compound is concentrated on the work surface. Creating this path requires a balance of geometry through the fixture, understanding the work piece configuration is the key to a successful fixture design.
BKM Abrasive Flow offers its customers over 25 years of experience in Abrasive Flow Fixture design. Maintaining a large fixture library enables us to leverage past designs for new projects thus decreasing the design and development time. We’ve designed fixtures for various markets including Aircraft Engine, Aerospace, Medical, Fuel Delivery Systems, Hydraulic Systems and General Industrial.
Our fixture designs utilize a wear resistant poly urethane to direct the abrasive flow compound over the work surface. The poly urethane inserts are designed to wear as the workpiece is processed. When the poly urethane has worn to the point where the Abrasive Flow process is no longer achieving desired finishing requirements the poly urethane can be re-coated. This greatly increases the life of the fixture and increases our customers ROI.
